We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Scott Opper has joined HumRRO as a Principal Scientist. Dr. Suzanne Tsacoumis, president and CEO of HumRRO, said “Scott’s deep measurement expertise has directly shaped some of our nation’s most visible high-stakes testing programs. The hard-earned ‘practical wisdom’ generated by this experience is truly unique in our industry. I couldn’t be happier that that he has joined the HumRRO family.” Scott comes to HumRRO from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), where he served as Vice President, Exam Development & Research and was responsible for overseeing the development, publication, scoring, and equating of the SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) exams.

Prior to SHRM, Scott spent eight years at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) as the Director of Development & Psychometrics for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Before AAMC, Scott worked for 18 years at American Institutes for Research (AIR), where he served most recently as Chief Methodologist within the Applied Behavioral and Social Sciences division. He is the author or co-author of more than 60 journal articles, book chapters, or conference presentations concerning the measurement or prediction of human abilities, achievement, or performance and was granted the status of Fellow in the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) in 2013. Scott earned his Ph.D. in industrial-organizational psychology from the University of Minnesota and his undergraduate degree from Duke University.
