Alexandria, Virginia (December 2, 2025) —The Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO) proudly announces it has been selected as a winner of the 2025 Amazon Web Services (AWS) Imagine Grant, a public grant opportunity open to registered charities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, United States, and Canada and registered 501(c) nonprofit organizations in the United States who are using technology to solve the world’s most pressing challenges.

The grant will support HumRRO’s efforts to transform workplace skills evaluation through an AI-powered assessment platform built on Amazon Bedrock. Using realistic simulations, this technology aims to deliver sophisticated and scientifically rigorous skill assessments at a fraction of traditional costs. This breakthrough will make high-quality employee evaluation accessible to organizations of all sizes, replacing outdated methods with engaging, scalable solutions.

HumRRO was named a winner in the Go Further, Faster category which recognizes highly innovative projects using advanced cloud services. HumRRO will receive up to $150,000 in unrestricted funding, up to $100,000 in AWS Credits, and support from AWS technical specialists. Awardees were selected based on several factors including the innovative and unique nature of the project, impact on mission-critical goals, and clearly defined outcomes and milestones.

Leveraging AI and Expertise
Building on cutting-edge AI technology and HumRRO’s established expertise in industrial-organizational psychology, our solution running on AWS will address three persistent problems in talent assessment using breakthrough multi-agent AI coordination technology:

  • Efficiency: AI automation reduces assessment development time, expanding access to rigorous hiring tools.
  • Reliability: Interactive simulations capture authentic behavioral responses, measuring complex skills traditional tests cannot evaluate.
  • Engagement: Natural AI conversations deliver realistic workplace scenarios that meet modern candidate expectations.

“Our collaboration with AWS underscores HumRRO’s mission as a nonprofit dedicated to measuring human capabilities and advancing assessment science,” said Suzanne Tsacoumis, Ph.D., President and CEO at HumRRO. “By leveraging AWS’s architecture with our expertise in data-driven solutions, this tool will help meet the growing demand for sophisticated, engaging assessments that are efficient and scalable.”

Since the launch of the Imagine Grant program in 2018, AWS has awarded more than $21 million in unrestricted funding, AWS cloud computing credits, and technical expertise to more than 170 nonprofit organizations.
