HumRRO recently conducted a rigorous quasi-experimental evaluation to examine the impact of Curriculum Associates’ Ready® Mathematics Blended Core Curriculum on student mathematics achievement. Working collaboratively with Century Analytics, the HumRRO team’s findings provided clear evidence that school-level participation in Ready Mathematics Blended Core Curriculum resulted in higher student-level achievement in mathematics, as measured by the i-Ready® Diagnostic, compared to a control group composed of similar students.

A nationally-recognized third-party evaluator, HumRRO conducts quasi-experimental design studies intended to meet the rigorous What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) 4.0 standards, along with the standards for achieving a Level 2 rating for the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). We have extensive experience working with clients to conceptualize implementation fidelity, identifying schools and students eligible for inclusion in treatment and comparison groups, applying propensity score matching to identify baseline equivalent samples, and using Hierarchical Linear Modeling (HLM) to account for the clustered-nature of many educational interventions. These studies have become increasingly important as ESSA guidance stresses the need for evidence-based research to support intervention decisions by schools and districts.
