The mission of the Center for Personnel Policy Analysis is to examine the impact of personnel decisions, policies, and programs on individuals, groups, organizations, and society as a whole.
This includes a specific focus on test development and validation, computerized adaptive testing, and manpower personnel policy research. Through the application of state-of-the-art research methodologies and analytic techniques, the Center’s work sheds light on issues such as fairness, equity, employee satisfaction and productivity, and retention. Evaluation efforts are aimed at the long-term resolution of problems in these areas.
We are an interdisciplinary team whose approach employs both quantitative and qualitative methods. Our staff members have prepared scores of written and oral research reports for both technical and non-technical audiences. We have also authored or contributed to several books and other professional publications.
