Lance Anderson, Ph.D., is HumRRO’s Director of Federal Talent Management. In that role, he is responsible for understanding and addressing the special talent management challenges faced by federal agencies. Lance has over 25 years of experience conducting research and developing solutions. He has directed projects dealing with credentialing/certification, hiring and promotional system development, career/professional development, standards development, development of educational and training requirements, leadership development, recruitment and retention, and assessment of persons with disabilities. Lance led development and validation of a wide range of assessments including performance rating scales and hiring and certification tools including experience checklists, multiple-choice knowledge exams, situational judgment tests, work samples, accomplishment records, multiple-choice in-basket exams, etc. Dr. Anderson has performed this work with hundreds of types of jobs.

Lance is also an experienced psychometrician with experience analyzing and interpreting data with a wide variety of techniques including test equating, regression adjusted for multivariate-range-restriction, errors-in-variables analysis, etc. Much of Lance’s work has been in the context of highly litigious environments, including two projects under consent decree. He has provided employment-related litigation support services, depositions, and reports to address on-going litigation. Lance’s work has been published in journals including Personnel Psychology, Multivariate Behavioral Research, and Human Performance. Lance is also an experienced project manager, having successfully managed dozens of federal projects ranging in values up to several million.
