Knapp\u2019s keynote address, \u201cThe Road to Impactful Selection and Classification R&D,\u201d focused on taking a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to research, drawing on her career experience conducting military testing\u2014first at the U.S. Army Research Institute and for the past 35 years at HumRRO. She spoke to attendees from 15 countries at the 62nd IMTA Annual Conference, which had been delayed two years due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n
Knapp defines impactful applied research as that which increases knowledge and improves important outcomes valued by the organization, affected individuals, other groups, and society. New knowledge is most impactful if it\u2019s shared one way or another with the scientific community.<\/p>\n
