Globally, the population of younger workers with the necessary education and skills is not large enough or growing fast enough to replace the departing Baby Boom generation. Therefore, retaining talented mature workers\u2014and recruiting new ones\u2014is simply good business for most organizations.<\/p>\n<p>HumRRO&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humrro.org\/corpsite\/profile\/cheryl-paullin\/\">Cheryl Paullin<\/a> authored\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shrm.org\/about\/foundation\/products\/pages\/the-aging-workforce-leveraging-the-talents-of-mature-employees.aspx\">The Aging Workforce: Leveraging the Talents of Mature Employees<\/a>\u00a0on behalf of the SHRM Foundation. It is part of their Effective Practice Guidelines series and funding was provided by the Arthur P. Sloan Foundation. The report details best practices for recruiting, engaging, and retaining mature workers, and for identifying mission-critical positions or competencies that may be at risk due to the pending departure of older workers. The SHRM Foundation offers it to HR professionals and training programs.<\/p>\n<p>You can download a copy of the report\u00a0<a
