Steve Ferrara, Ph.D., is a Principal Scientist at HumRRO with decades of experience conducting educational measurement research and designing assessments. Prior to joining HumRRO, he served as Measurement Solutions Architect at Cognia and was Vice President of Performance Assessment and led the Center for Next Generation Learning and Assessment at Pearson’s Research and Innovation Network. Dr. Ferrara began his career as a high school special education teacher and later served as a state assessment director for Maryland. He has published numerous papers in leading academic journals including the Journal of Educational Measurement and Applied Measurement in Education.

Dr. Ferrara earned a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology (specialization in measurement and psychology) and an Ed.S. in Program Evaluation from Stanford University.
