Training and Evaluation Research for the Multi-Service Distributed Training Test

The Multi-Service Distributed Training Testbed (MDT2) demonstrates the advantages that Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and synthetic battlefield technology provide for training close air support operations.

The military training community used the testbed to assess DIS-based strategies for multi-service combat mission training. Within the context of this development, HumRRO created, through successive stages, an integrated human performance subsystem that parallels the system integration that others performed for the hardware and software subsystems. The HumRRO tasks were: (a) analyze training objectives for multi-service CAS; (b) create scenarios for MDT2 demonstration; (c) determine MDT2 device characteristics; (d) prepare guidelines for users; and (e) assess MDT2 system and prepare final report.
